Have you ever had the experience of someone starting a conversation with you but they seem to be midway through a stream of consciousness and you don't really know what they are talking about or why they are talking to you about it? Whether you've experienced this as the giver or receiver, we know that more clarity is needed and our communication could be better.

This episode is especially important for communication in professional environments where it can look very bad if you are not being clear in your communications and if anyone else is wondering when you might get to the point or what you're talking about.

My guest Chris Fenning has studied communication in professional environments and has been able to identify the points where it sometimes fails and he says it's usually within the first minute. He gives us some strategies and real-world examples of poor communication and how they can be corrected with his simple formula. (Don't worry, there's no algebra involved.)

We had a great fun chat about communication fails and alternative applications for his communication formula that I know you're going to love and get value from. We'd love to hear how you will be applying Chris' clarity formula?

Chris is the author of the new book 'The First Minute' which lays out the problems and the simple solutions for becoming a clearer communicator in professional environments without needing to take a public speaking class. As a public speaking coach, I'm not sure how I feel about that? Anyhow, it's a great chat and I learned a lot. So will you.

If you'd like to connect with Chris, get his book, read his blog and more, visit his website www.chrisfenning.com and remember, if you leave a review for the book and then get in touch with Chris, he will give your team or company a free 1-hour communication training. Now, that's a great offer!

We're 2 episodes away from our 100th show! Who will be our next guests for show 99 and show 100? Make sure you're subscribed to find out and remember to please share the show with your network. See you next time.
