This series is an up-close-and-personal account of the heroes introduced by Eric Vaughan and Patrick Lovell’s “The Con” which took a simple but revolutionary approach to explain the epidemics of elite fraud driving the great financial crisis of 2007-2008 and continuing today.
Co-hosts Patrick Lovell, Steve Grumbine and Eric Vaughan delve into the opaque world of misdirection that obfuscates the true nature of the scheme which is theft by deception. In this episode our guests Kathleen Engel, research professor of law specializing in financial services at Suffolk University in Boston, and Mayra Rodriguez Valladares, former foreign exchange analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, will transport viewers into the machine of corporate thievery that games malleable brokers to deceive the uninformed and most vulnerable.
The great financial crisis created a diabolical model through which brokers would target widows using City and County records to set them up in a scheme so horrific that in many instances, death or homelessness was the consequence. The conmen developed numerous ways to exploit those living on fixed incomes with equity to fall prey to the demands of the city that they have their roofs or driveways fixed or be fined.
Complex loan products were created under the guise of giving people “better options and more choices,” but this was yet another false representation presented to folks who never understood the process and nor the risk involved.
The Con would be significant enough it if ended with door-to-door salesmen pawning liars-loans, but all of it was engineered and puppeteer by those at the top such as then Chairmen of the Federal Reserve Alan Greenspan and Former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin turned Chairman of CITI who prevented regulators from doing their jobs so they could be rewarded immensely by the system of corruption they guaranteed.
The whole system was designed to bury the little guy in an act of such perversion and deception that it is very difficult to believe possible. How can they get away with it? Because you don’t understand how it works, until now.
This Financial Terrorism doesn’t care what color you are or your gender or your religion. All are targets of this mammoth enterprise of corruption until you learn not to be the victim.
