Clinical Psychologist Dr. Scott Eilers, wants you to be healthy both inside and out. That includes mental health as well as physical health.

“Your body is your brain’s home. You really cannot have a healthy brain inside an unhealthy body.”

Using food to support your mental health is key to any successful mental health treatment.

“If your body does not have what it needs every day, then your brain does not have what it needs every day either, and it's not going to function the way you want it to. Things like emotion regulation, stress management, social engagement, critical thinking, memory, task performance - these things are all going to suffer as a result of poor health.”

By taking in proper nutrition, you help your body to help you.

“If you get in your meals, and they are fairly dense meals, and they’re spaced appropriately, you’re 90% of the way there.”

In this episode, Dr. Scott Eilers reveals how to use food to support your mental health.
