Hello Listeners, Welcome to this Episode of Recollect: Conversations with Black Women about Decolonizing Using Story & Nature. In this episode the conversation I have is with myself and all of the shit that is in my head on this Sunday afternoon February 27, 2022. Like many people in the world, I am troubled by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I ask myself the question of how this can happen when as an ecology of humans we don't want such violence and senseless death? What is it that I am doing in my everyday life that could be participating in a violent world of abuse where the white superiority lie manifests in me? How does it manifest in all of us in a way that so often one person orders others to hurt other humans and that person is not stopped. Thanks to this conversation with self, I am able to talk myself to revelation about a current situation in my professional life as a writer that has me frozen, not taking action on my own behalf. Thanks to this open conversation with y'all who I know are listening, I am able to talk myself into standing on my beliefs and doing what I can do in my own life to make a difference so that I participate less in the legacy of violence and abuse in the world. Without checking that violence somewhere, even if it is just in our individual lives, that unchecked violence can grow into situations where one or two white men can order the deaths of many. I invite you to have a conversation with me here, but please no haters. If this is not for you, it is okay. I am wishing you peace. I am meditating on right-mind, right-behavior and right-actions for the leader of Russia. Wishing for mindfulness and a cease to impactful hurtful and deadly actions that come from lots of white professionals. I am wishing for peace of mind, truth telling, healing AND Decolonization for Ukrainians and all who have been injured by the white superiority lie and the internalized behaviors that result in the belief of that lie. My website is https://zeldalockhart.com/ Recollect is listener supported. Drop some coins, some love, some good energy.
