The challenges humanity face, demand diverse voices and expertise from many corners so pre-Covid international policy advisor Dr. Julia Stamm pulled together The Futures Project. When Covid hit, the organization carried on receiving over 600 applications from change agents worldwide, who keep working to bring solutions that last with or without a pandemic to catalyze inspired innovation. As a policymaker, Dr. Stamm reflects on what it takes to replace short-term focus with an appreciation of the big picture. Her extensive experience in national and international academic institutions and international organizations gives her a unique perspective on where gaps in perception and action intersect.

Julia founded The Futures Project in autumn 2019. She has long-standing leadership and management experience in national and international academic institutions and international organisations, such as COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. In 2017, Julia set up and ran the G20 Think Tank Summit Global Solutions. She is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Centre for Policy Futures at the University of Queensland, Australia, a member of the Hertie School Alumni Council and its Academic Senate and a member of the Advisory Board of the Museum for the Future in Nuremberg, Germany.
