Daheia’s research centers increasing physical activity and decreasing sedentary behavior in children and adults. Daheia has been researching cardiovascular disease risk factors in African American women and families along with the potential effects and benefits that could be afforded with yoga.

This discussion highlights some of the cultural barriers in yoga, why rest is not a luxury but a requirement and how taking just 2 minutes to minutes of time to yourself to focus on your breathing can have a positive impact on the Heart as well as the mind.
