In this episode we interview Katelyn Fischer. Katelyn currently works at the University of Pittsburgh athletics department as the Director of Business Services. Prior to her arrival at Pitt, Fischer was the Coordinator of Business Operations at the University of Maryland from 2019-2021. As an advocate of financial literacy, she also began presenting virtual financial literacy workshops to collegiate student-athletes and young professionals to improve basic skills in budgeting and debt management.
In this episode we talk about Katelyn's journey from student athlete to working at a top financial firm to navigating back into the NCAA sports business realm. We also uncover her insights around strong financial practices and how to best manage your money at different stages of your adult life. Katelyn gives great insight into NIL from both player and executive sides and what the future looks like from a student athlete perspective.
