Lebanese-American Actress Jamie Grey Hyder (True Blood, Graceland, Sugar Plum Twist) talks about voicing Hawkgirl in 'Green Lantern: Beware My Power' premiering at San Diego Comic Con.
Hyder plays Thanagarian warrior Hawkgirl in a story focusing on the modern origin of Green Lantern, John Stewart, his struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the survivors guilt. All this while being drawn into an intergalactic battle between Rann and Thanagar, but not all is as it seems. Unlike Stewart, Hawkgirl holds to the notion of dying an honorable death in battle and like Hyder's real-life Phoenician ancestors being proud to defend their nationality.
We spoke with Hyder about her role as Hawkgirl in 'Green Lantern: Beware My Power', her work with veterans and the power of humanizing our comic book as well as science fiction characters.
'Green Lantern: Beware My Power' premieres this weekend at San Diego Comic Con and comes to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
