I've been getting the question..... how am I training for the savage race? Well here is a short podcast explaining my mindset going into the race. It's a little out of the norm when it comes to your typical training that you see most average gym goers doing. I plan on doing 5 full body workouts a week. Yes I said 5 full body workouts. The idea behind it is that i am going to fatigue the whole body and let it recover together. That being said the only way this is possible is if you manage your workload on a day to day basis very carefully. If you don't, you will find yourself over trained very quickly. You will find my workouts having a bit of everything in them but the exercises that I will be doing will somewhat replicate the things that will done in the race. Examples will include farmers walks, push ups, pull ups, dead lifts, lunges and so on.
