1964年生於台北的馬玉芬，輔大德文系畢業，是知名歌手與音樂製作人馬兆駿的妹妹。馬玉芬自1989年正式出道後，在歌壇就一直都是以才女形象受人注目，而她也不負眾望，不僅填詞、作曲、合音樣樣都來；最後更上一層樓，升級為製作人。馬玉芬不僅為自己，也為其他歌手製作專輯，代表作就是張惠妹的《聽海》。在演唱的部分，馬玉芬自己在螢光幕前的那幾年，曾出過《多情會有問題》、《愛情的臉》、《最近》、《青春不定》等5張個人專輯。
