Today, I’m chatting with Melissa Doohan Beirne.
Having moved to Boyle when she was just eight years old, Melissa is a well-known name and face throughout the town.
We chat about Melissa’s love for running and how it has changed her life in so many ways. We talk about her involvement in Park Run and how her passion for it led her and a small group of people to take action and set up Boyle Athletic Club.
Boyle AC has gone from strength to strength since its foundation, and Melissa talks about the people that have been instrumental in that success.
We also talk about Darkness Into Light and how the foundation helped her get through a very dark time in her life.
I really enjoyed the chat with Melissa and I’d like to thank her for giving us her time. I’m sure little Alba will enjoy listening back to her mum in many years to come!
