Most rural producers have legal and tax structures in place like partnerships, companies and trusts. They are usually put in place for either tax planning or asset protection purposes but are often ignored or misunderstood as “My accountant deals with that stuff!”
Few understand their structures or realise what can go wrong if they or their accountant are not all over the legal and tax requirements, which is the subject of our discussion today.
