The Holy GrAHL returns with the 60th edition of Field Pass Hockey’s American Hockey League podcast. Your hosts Zack Power, Andrew Rinaldi, Corey Swartz, and Deana Weinheimer are back at it again with the latest from the AHL in a new format from March 24, 2023 to March 31, 2023.

Starting off, Zack and Corey give an update on teams to have clinched a playoff berth with the Hershey Bears and the Providence Bruins securing their place in the Calder Cup Playoffs while other teams look to get in on the action. Then, we crown our AHL Elite Prospect of the Week as Henderson Silver Knights forward Sakari Manninen takes the honors. Zack rattles off some nice stats on the first-year forward and his impressive 2022-23 season.

The new format on the block kicks off with Corey talking about amusement parks and drawing a comparison between each team in the Atlantic Division to your favorite attraction. Did you know that each of the Pennsylvania AHL teams has a corresponding theme park? Come for the roller coasters, stay for the thrilling rides as each team looks to assert themselves before the playoffs start.

It’s not just bubbles, it’s bubble art! Deana explains who is on the proverbial bubble in the North Division and who should be concerned about theirs popping as the regular season unfolds. With plenty of action and room for a potential upset or two, she lists off who could rise to the top.

Then it’s time to get your bathing suits and surfboards as Zack catches waves in the Pacific Division, showing which team is riding the wave while others are trying to avoid falling into the drink. Zack names his pick for a team whose wave will rise above the others in a photo finish!

In the bonus round, Deana has some Rochester Americans trivia as the hosts dig deep to name some Amerks history, including a former captain and former affiliates of one of the league’s senior franchises.
