Interview starts at (17:35). Bernie McKay spent 28 years as a trust and estate attorney. He got into that because he wanted to practice in the gentler, more helpful side of the law. In 2021 he decided he wanted to spend more of his time in philanthropy and gave himself a year to see what that would look like. Two days later he got a call that the Haile Foundation was looking for a new CEO. He ended up getting the job. He talks with us about impostor syndrome and changes to how the foundation works.
