English, like Spanish, makes a distinction between the general act of cutting and the specific action of slicing. These words can confuse, however. Do you cut a slice, or slice a cut? Do scissors "cut" or "cuts"? If you slice your finger, what do you call the wound? Si te cortas el dedo, ¿cómo se llama la herida? Do you have a slice or a cut?
Don't forget to read our blog at NoTeRindasPodcast.us for the many expressions in English that use the word "cut," like "to make the cut" or "to be cut out for." Chécalos.
