I'd like to acknowledge the traditional owners of these lands, the Awabakal people, on which we gratefully get to live and learn today.
I also acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and pay my respects to any elders listening in the past, present and emerging.
Max Hayes-Antcliffe is a grappling phenom and, at the age of just 17, Max has some pretty amazing achievements.
Max is a BJJ purple belt under the team at Alpha MMA where he is a 3x Aus & 3x NSW champion.
Max is also a freestyle wrestler and is the 3x Aus & 3x NSW champion.
Max dedicates himself to grappling as a professional athlete, training 15 sessions a week across his disciplines, and also some striking just to keep himself fresh.
Max's major goal is to win Australia`s first Olympic gold medal in freestyle wrestling and a ADCC gold medal by the time he's 30.
In August, Max will be competing for his country and wearing the Green & Gold for the first time in the Oceania championships.
If you would like to support Max at this event, the Podcast has created a Gofundme on his behalf (please see link below). Any funds raised will go directly to fund Max's travel expenses in order to represent Australia at this monumental championship. As many would be aware, it is not cheap and much of the trip will need to be self-funded, even though Max is only 17. Anything you can afford to donate would be so much appreciated by him and make a huge difference.
