We are back! In this weeks episode Vonia covers the unbelievably funny and talented Bridgett Everett’s amazing hbo max show Somebody Somewhere! This show follows a woman who has returned home to Manhattan, KS to help her sister who is dying from cancer. The show begins after her sisters death and follows Sam’s (Bridgett Everett) journey through grief as she relearns how to make connections and finds her voice again.
Then Averyn tells the true story of Ali Kemp. Ali Kemp was a 19 year old Kansas State University student who was killed while working her summer job at the local Leawood community pool. Leawood, KS is a notoriously safe suburban neighborhood and Averyn knows this because she lived there growing up and her parents still live there to this day. This shocking crime shook this community to its core. But the determination of Ali’s father, Roger Kemp, ultimately led police to her killer.
