Welcome to Behind the Smiles, the Oral Health podcast show. I'm Dr. Smita Pattanayak, your host. Crowns and bridges play a crucial role in restoring and enhancing dental health. They are used to replace missing teeth, strengthen weakened teeth, and improve both the aesthetics and functionality of the mouth. Let's delve into why they are so essential. First and foremost, crowns and bridges help to restore damaged teeth. When a tooth is severely decayed, cracked, or weakened, a crown is placed over it to provide protection and strength. By covering the entire tooth, crowns prevent further deterioration and potential tooth loss. In cases where a tooth is missing, bridges come into play. A bridge consists of two or more crowns on either side of the gap, with an artificial tooth in between. This bridge fills the space, restoring the appearance of a complete smile and preventing the surrounding teeth from shifting out of position. So, In today's podcast episode, we will be discussing about “The Importance of Crowns and Bridges in Restorative Dentistry”. So, keep listening to this podcast episode till the end.
