Our topic today is digital connections and so Rebecca has a lot to share about that! Rebecca Saunders is a Business & Life Advisor for ambitious women wanting to do life and business unapologetically on their terms. She's a champagne-drinking, post-it note loving, hair-free alopecian who helps female business owners turn their uniqueness into a superpower, celebrate their successes and create dream lives and businesses by design. At just 22, Rebecca packed a small bag and booked a one-way ticket to Sydney with her laptop and just $500. It was here that she founded her first video production company and signed global networking behemoth, LinkedIn as its first client! Fast forward a decade and the team operates worldwide across Australia, New Zealand, UK and the USA.

The recent pandemic thrust her business into chaos and all of a sudden, her revenue hit zero and she told her staff she was closing the business down. But after a week of sleepless nights tossing and turning, Rebecca knew failure wasn’t an option - she called the team back in and they set to work on transforming the business. Ironically, 2020 became her biggest year since opening her business and she hit the 7-figure mark for the first time. In addition, after 25 years wearing a wig, she decided that she was ready to reveal herself to the world, live an authentic life and lean into her own uniqueness! After a personal move to country NSW, Rebecca swiftly realised that she couldn't be alone in "having big dreams, a ton of energy and craving for connection with likeminded women" and so she decided to do something about it.

She created The Champagne Lounge to give every woman around the world a cheer squad. This is a community of women who dream big together, who want to have more, who want to do more, and who want someone to give celebrate them they make it a reality. Rebecca now spends her time living her best life, working with clients she loves and inspiring others to make their own uniqueness their superpower.

Rebecca shares with us today:

1. Can a digital connection be more than a secondary option to those IRL experiences?

2. How have you created a digital community from scratch and what have been some of your biggest learnings as you did this?

3. Since we are not locked down anymore and say Zoom drinks are not for everyone, how can digital communities best scale and create meaningful lasting impacts?

4. Any latest trends you are seeing for leveraging our digital connections?

5. Takeaway: What is your final takeaway message for us on The Politics of Digital Connections?
