Welcome to God at the Movies! We're glad you're here. Co-hosts Danielle Strickland and James Sholl spend this season diving deep into popular movies and TV shows and what's being said about culture today. The base from which they approach this task is found in the belief that God is at work redeeming all things everywhere.
This weeks content is on the ShondaLand hit Bridgerton spinoff, Queen Charlotte.

The spin-off miniseries revolving around Queen Charlotte consists of two plot lines: one in the present of Bridgerton, beginning in 1817 with the death of the royal heir Princess Charlotte, an event that causes the Queen to pressure her children to marry and produce another royal heir; the other begins in 1761 with Charlotte meeting and marrying King George. The latter explores the King and Queen's marriage and his mental illness.

This episode features guest Lisa Sharon Harper.

From Ferguson to New York, and from Germany to South Africa to Australia, Lisa Sharon Harper leads trainings that increase clergy and community leaders’ capacity to organize people of faith toward a just world. A prolific speaker, writer and activist, Ms. Harper is the founder and president of FreedomRoad.us, a consulting group dedicated to shrinking the narrative gap in our nation by designing forums and experiences that bring common understanding, common commitment and common action. Lisa is the author of several books, including most recently, The Very Good Gospel and Fortune. For more information on Lisa, go to lisasharonharper.com

Along with the podcast, there is a discussion guide available for you if you're looking to engage with movies and TV in community. Each episode will have a more specific guide attached in the show notes. For this weeks guide: Discussion Guide
