Nostalgia, sentimentality, and looking back has oft been villainized by Black Husband as the equivalent of sticking a pacifier in your throat in order to temporarily alleviate the pain of refusing to deal with issues. On behalf of having his memories thrown away as a high schooler by his own mother, a pain he ironically shares with White Girl, he has a history of refusing and beclowning those who attempt to bond over old video games, music, and so on.
