Manage episode 378033393 series 3473635
Pete Rose, the greatest player to ever play the game of baseball, and should be in the Hall of Fame. His records include hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at bats (14,053), singles (3,215) and outs (10,328). He won three World Series, three batting titles, one MVP Award, two Gold gloves and the Rookie of the year in 1963. He also made 17 All-star appearances at an unequaled five positions (second baseman, left fielder, right fielder, third baseman, and first baseman. He is most proud of winning more games than everyone who played professional sports. Pete talks about some of his cherished moments in life and in baseball; His father's love, devotion, and toughness; some famous teammates; military service at Fort Knox; the “75” Big Red Machine; and his relationship with Bart Giamatti, the Major League commissioner who banned Pete from the game in 1989 for betting on baseball. How hypocritical is it today when the MLB accepts money from Casino’s, Sports Betting apps and Gambling sites, yet does not allow Pete Rose a second chance to be unanimously voted into the Hall of Fame at Cooperstown? He's paid the price for 34 years! Doesn’t everyone deserve a second chance? If you feel inspired to help Pete:
