I’ve witnessed several eclipses and every time I find it odd that while the sun is being blocked by the moon, we have to wear sunglasses. If the sun rays are directed at me, why must I be shielded from them? It only takes a few seconds to figure of a staring out why. It’s impossible, even only for a few moments to stare at something so bright.

As John begins his account of Jesus‘ life, he encourages us to stare directly at the Son, uninhibited by any obstruction. This weekend we are going to take a look at why Jesus, as the unadulterated form of God before men, is such a glorious thing to behold.
