Manage episode 403711909 series 3412061
We are thrilled to introduce you to Mr. Tyrone Geter, a world-renowned artist and teacher. With a Masters of Fine Arts from Ohio University, Geter's exceptional talent in painting and drawing has captivated audiences for decades. His portraits are masterfully executed, sensitive, and timeless. However, Geter's journey to becoming a world-class artist was not without its challenges. He grew up in Anniston, Alabama during a time when segregation laws and social justice were defining the region. In 1979, Geter relocated to Nigeria where he lived for seven years, painting and drawing among the locals of Northern Nigeria. This experience taught him to appreciate the richness and depth of the cultures of the region, despite the harsh realities of life. Geter's works have been displayed at several prestigious institutions such as the Columbia Museum of Art, Florence County Museum, and The Museum of Fine Art in Boston.
