Some states, such as California, have a reputation for strict business regulations to protect workers’ rights, as workplace technology develops, these can be misused and prompts proactive rules. Illinois is a close second in employee protection regulations, where the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act is coming back on employers and racking millions of dollars in class action lawsuits.
