In this episode, the ladies will discuss I Think I’m In Love: Love vs Lust! Love and lust are often used interchangeably, but they represent distinct emotional and psychological experiences.

Let’s compare the two:

Love:

  • Emotional connection - involves a deep emotional connection and attachment with another person. It encompasses feelings of care, affection, and compassion.

  • Long-term commitment - a desire for a long term commitment with another person. It is characterized by loyalty, dedication, and a willingness to support each other through life’s ups and downs.

  • Respect and understanding - it is respect and understanding for the other person. It entails accepting them for who they are , with all their strengths and weaknesses , and appreciating their unique abilities.

  • Intimacy - emotional intimacy which encompasses a deep sense of connection, trust, and vulnerability with the other person

Lust:

  • Physical attraction - primarily driven by physical attraction and desire. It is focused on the physical appearance or sex appeal of the other person

  • Short-term gratification - seeking immediate gratification and pleasure without a long-term commitment or emotional connection. It may be fleeting and temporary.

  • Impulsivity - can be impulsive and based on instinctual urges rather than thoughtful consideration or emotional connection. It may lead to actions that are driven by immediate desires rather than long-term goals.

  • Self-gratification - focuses on satisfying one’s own needs and desires without considering the needs or feelings of the other person.

In summary, while both love and lust involve strong feelings of attraction, they differ in terms of their depth, duration, and underlying motivations. Love is characterized by emotional connection, long-term commitment, and mutual growth. While lust is primarily driven by physical attraction, and short-term gratification.
