My name is C. Read, and I was led to record my thoughts on 2 September 2023, in the wee hours of the morning, as I was thinking about all that is going on in the world. I have been concerned about what has been taking place in the churches for some time now, and I hope this will be a blessing to all who are willing to listen.
Just a little more info about my Testimony:
I was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, during the “Iranian Crisis” of 1979. My duty station was in Hawaii, but I was on a temporary assignment to Yuma, Arizona when Iranian students seized the American Embassy in Tehran, and took American hostages.
A special friend of mine was on a deployment to Japan and was preparing to go to Iran at a moment’s notice. It was such distressing time in my life, and my love and concern for my dear friend caused me to call out to God.
About that same time, a Marine, whom I had never met before, approached me as I was leaving my barracks in Yuma, and handed me a Bible. He said, “Here, I think you need to read this,” and he just walked away. I never saw him again, but I will never forget him!
That brief encounter was a major turning point in my life, and in November 1979, I committed my life to the LORD Jesus Christ in the deserts of Yuma, Arizona. I did take his advice, and I began reading and studying the Bible, but that was just the beginning of my journey of walking with God in the "True Light."
Much has happened since that wonderful day when I met the LORD, and I am walking with Him still. And by God’s grace, I will continue unto the End! Amen!
