It declared openly that if the CCP attacks the Philippines, the United States will be forced to defend its ally. The warning comes after a Philippine sailor was seriously injured following a Chinese coast guard ship allegedly ramming their boat. The latest incident comes amid a growing pattern of confrontations between Philippine ships and CCP ships in the South China Sea.
