Hello ladies, and Welcome to Episode 25 of The Career Woman’s Secret Playbook Podcast! I’m your host, Dr. Dawn, CEO/Founder of Dr. Dawn ShopTalk. Today, we're delving into a topic that resonates with so many professional moms out there – Career Mom Guilt! As ambitious women, we often find ourselves juggling various roles – being a mom and pursuing a successful career. While it's incredibly fulfilling, it also comes with its challenges, one of which is that nagging feeling of guilt. You know what I'm talking about – that inner voice questioning if we are doing enough for our children, family, and career.
So, let's explore this career mom guilt together. First and foremost, it's essential to recognize that you are not alone in feeling this way. Many successful women face the same challenge of finding balance and sometimes feel guilty about not being able to give 100% to both aspects of their lives simultaneously.

I want to share some practical tips to help you navigate through these feelings and come out stronger on the other side.:
#1: Embrace imperfection. Remember that it's okay not to be perfect. Striving for perfection in both your career and motherhood is a daunting task. Instead, focus on doing your best and give yourself permission to make mistakes. It's these imperfections that make us human and give us opportunities to learn and grow.
#2: Set boundaries. As a career mom, it's easy to blur the lines between work and family time. Establishing clear boundaries between these two aspects of your life can help alleviate guilt.
#3: Prioritize self-care. We often put ourselves last on the list of priorities, but self-care is crucial to maintain balance. Remember that taking care of yourself allows you to be a better mom and a more productive professional.
#4: Comparison. Comparing ourselves to others can be detrimental to our well-being. Each woman's journey is unique, and what works for someone else may not work for you.
#5: Seek support and community. Connecting with other career moms who understand what you're going through can be incredibly comforting. Share your experiences, seek advice, and offer support to one another. Building a strong network can help you navigate the challenges of balancing work and motherhood.
