For our first Positive Perspective, we’ll hear from Netsuite founder Evan Goldberg, who’s not only co-founder of the BRCA Foundation, but is himself BRCA positive. Evan, a Silicon Valley success story, only discovered his BRCA status after his biological mother tracked him down as an adult to inform him of her own mutation. Fifteen years after testing positive -- growing frustrated with the lack of funding for cancer research and with his own children approaching an age appropriate for genetic testing and -- Evan launched the BRCA Foundation with his friend, Cary cole, who is also BRCA+. In this episode, Evan and I discuss his personal health journey as well as his strategy for launching a 21st century foundation that turns the field of cancer philanthropy on its head.
