Dawn Fallik is a student at heart. Since she started her career in journalism, she’s reported on everything from music to sports to medicine, at the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press and more. She went back to school to get a master’s in database analysis, taught classes as an adjunct, and hasn’t been afraid to learn new things as a seasoned reporter, even as a multimedia intern at the Wall Street Journal twenty years into her career. But after several years of chasing stories in her dream job as a reporter at the Philadelphia Inquirer, she was laid off and had to find something new. She found her new passion as a freelance reporter and full-time journalism professor at the University of Delaware, and talks about the transition from newsroom to classroom.
