Anyone who has ever felt swamped, imprisoned, paralyzed or had panic attacks over their student loan debt this story is for you.
In 2012, Hillary Carroll graduated with an MFA from UCLA. She owed 130k--between her loans, interest accrued, and capitalized interest. This story is about how she paid it off.
In June of 2015, three years post graduation, after applying for IBR twice (Income Based Repayment), faithfully making payments, having panic attacks, and only seeing her loans go up and up Hillary and her husband Chris decided to live frugally off his wage and make it their goal to throw every cent Hillary earned at her student loan debt. In April of 2018, Hillary became debt free.
