atrisha lewis

There are few in Canadian legal history who have reached the success, respect, and accomplishments in such a short period of time as Atrisha Lewis. Within 5 years of her call date in 2013, Atrisha is now among the top litigators in the country.

In 2018, Atrisha was awarded the prestigious Precedent Setter Award that recognizes remarkable lawyers within their first 10 years of call. Friends and colleagues describe her as a woman who “knows what she wants” and uses her intelligence, skills, and grit to get it. For her, that ultimate goal is to become Canada’s top civil litigator; with the trajectory she is presently on, it will come as no surprise to anyone when she is widely recognized as holding that title.

Building on of her already accomplished career forged at McCarthy Tétrault in Toronto, Atrisha seeks election for the position of Law Society Bencher. If elected, this may place her at the youngest Bencher ever in this prestigious position. Despite Convocation’s reputation for being reserved for those you are generally old, white, and male, Atrisha readily accepts the challenge to change this trend as a racialized woman dead set on increasing diversity and its benefits in the halls of Osgoode Hall.

Put another way, for many who hold her in awe, she is the future of our profession.
