On April 9th, Museum of Arts and Design will open Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die: Punk Graphics, 1976–1986. This will be the first exhibit under the new museum director. Adapted to showcase New York City's storied punk history, much of the exhibit originates from a massive collection Andrew Krevine from the Cranbrook Art Museum in Michigan, “Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die charts punk’s explosive impact on design and examines its complex relationship with art, history, and culture.” More than 400 pieces of punk's most iconic graphic design, including flyers, zines, posters, and album covers will be on display. During a members only event on April 15th, Johnny Rotten will kick off a full series of public programs that will feature several of punk's architects and revolutionaries. So today on Obsessed show, we're speaking with Andrew Blauvelt, director of the Cranbrook Museum, about his origins, punk design, and this exciting collection that is soon to be featured in the Museum of Art and Design...
