Welcome to this month's podcast- I’m super thrilled to have Dr. Mark McColl, founder of Pillar Primary Care, as my guest. Dr. McColl has a reputation for being one of the best medical doctors in the region, someone that I have long admired, who’s patients always rave to me about his care, his service, and his expertise.
I originally had Dr. McColl on the podcast on episode #2. Well one podcast wasn't enough- as Dr. McColl has a wealth of knowledge- so he is back on the podcast!
On the podcast we discuss diet, nutrition, and intermittent fasting. These topics are Dr. McColl’s “go-to” for where he starts when helping his clients take back their health.
Listen to the podcast to find out:
- How Direct Primary Care works and if it might work for you
- The top diet recommendations he makes for his patients and why
- What he has learned personally going on a Keto diet
- Top recommended health apps and affordable health tracking devices
- The benefits of regular fasting and intermittent fasting
- Practical ways to structure fasting into your lifestyle
- And so much more...
Dr. McColl also has a special offer for the "Stay Healthy Knoxville" community. He is offering cardiometabolic evaluations for the first 5 individuals that mention “Stay Healthy Knoxville”. A lab based cardiometabolic evaluation consists of a panel of tests used to evaluate a patient’s glucose-insulin pathway, level of insulin resistance, and cardiovascular risk factors. Testing would be followed up with commentary from Dr. McColl and a 30 minute office visit with our staff dietitian, Carly Slagle.
Pillar Primary Care is changing the landscape of primary care medicine. If you are unhappy with your current medical provider or looking for a provider who has the time to help you get back on track with your health- then I’d encourage you to check them out .
Thanks for listening and Stay Healthy Knoxville!
Dr. John-Mark
Show Notes:
Diet tracking apps: Lose It!, My Fitness Pal
Glucose Monitoring: FreeStyle Libre
Resources: Do Fasting
Books by Jason Fung: The Complete Guide To Fasting, The Obesity Code, The Diabetes Code
