Dr. Saul Grissom sits and watches his Television. Hears rumbling outside his door opens it and there is fire. He yells, then calls 911. It’s not looking good for him as the fire spreads like that dude from “Fire” set this off.
We hear alarms and see people evacuating through the stairwell as the firefighters in full regalia rush up the stairs.
Oh shit! It’s Tony Todd! AHHHHHH!
Did you know this tall king is 6’5”?
REVEALING MISTAKES: At the beginning of the episode, when the fire department responds to a 9-1-1 emergency, the residents of what is supposed to be an upscale apartment building are shown evacuating using a stairway. However, it's clear from the way that the stairway appears that it's located in a commercial, not a residential, building.
There’s no fire at 606 but the dude is dead!
After the opening credits and a commercial break, and my deep dive into Tony Todd’s IMDb, we see Mulder arrive home. There’s a newspaper on his door with an audio tape in it. An article with Dr. Grissom’s obit is circled.
Mulder has a tape player, which was common in his day. It’s of the 911 call.
