Welcome to DMR, Mark Traphagen. You can find Mark over at StoneTemple.com. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHfDn1iaK8o On this episode of Digital Marketing Radio we discuss the antifragile Marketing, with topics including: What exactly is antifragile marketing? How do you build a marketing team to prepare for an uncertain world? How do you build a system that is capable of adapting to shocks? Is it possible for a large marketing team to react to unexpected events, or are smaller teams more naturally better suited to change course? If you’re a marketing director, in charge of a large department that’s been quite regimental in its past thinking, how do you introduce out-of-the-box thinking? What about people in your organisation who don’t like change, and just focus on doing their own jobs well - should they be...

I took yesterday to reflect on the direction I wanted to go in with the blog and podcast. I've got so much knowledge that I throw at people, that I often feel like I am providing too much information and people aren't acting on it. I do always stand to be corrected, however I thought it was important that I take a moment off and reflect on where i wanted to go with the podcast and how I wanted to present this information to people like you. Reference the podcast I did the other day titled “three ways for a more effective club opening-Your Own Pay podcast” so you can here what type of things i can do to make the opening of my programs better, and maybe it will help you think about how your programs can be improved when you open them as well. The second thing I referenced in this podcast is the book “WordPress for Bad Eyes: A Beginners Guide” I have not purchased this book so cannot speak as to the clarity of the material in, however it is a lower investment than what my training is, and...

Patreon allows creators to receive recurring payments directly from their fans. It mimics the old-school model of patronage, where patrons of the arts personally funded the careers of their favorite artists. It’s a platform that has brought big change to the lives of musicians (like Jack), podcasters (like Tom), visual artists, writers, game developers, and other creators who might otherwise struggle with monetization. If you’re on the hunt for a different approach to funding your project, listen to Jack and Tom’s stories. They’ll explain how they use Patreon, how it has helped them connect with their fans, and how it can change your business in radical ways.

Get Twice As Much Done In Half the Time When it comes to productivity, there is no shortage of advice. The problem is it’s often the same advice, repackaged with a bright new wrapper. Nothing new inside. And there’s no problem with that. Often, we need to hear the same advice presented differently, at different periods in our life, before it “clicks” and we finally “get” it. But sometimes, we need something truly different, something that rises above the normal, and begins to look more like a revolution than an evolution. Today’s “7 Shocking Productivity Hacks” may not seem new at first, but the extremes to which I will advise you to take these measures is, at least, something outlandishly more radical than what most would recommend. When you listen to today’s show, you’ll discover: How you can finally conquer your overflowing email inbox, once and for all, guaranteed. For free. The devastatingly effective method that ensures you never receive another unwanted phone call. A radical, but...

Sure, there are billions of photos and graphics online, but how do you choose the best one, and what are the legal ramifications of using those visuals? There are many things to consider when choosing visuals for your projects. For example, are you legally allowed to use a particular image? Once you choose an image and pay for it, are you allowed to use it forever or is there a time limit on it? What resolution works best for your particular project? Where can you find “families” of similar photos to use in the same project to keep the same look and feel throughout? What are some reputable and recommended places to search for and purchase photos from, and is it possible to negotiate the price? Sarah Fix is an expert in stock photography and the rules surrounding usage of online images, in a career spanning over 20 years in the field. She...

As someone who always likes to save a little bit of money, I am also inspired by the fact that Jon is currently using free software to produces music and make it available in iTunes and google Play Music. If Jon can do this even though some parts of the submission process are not accessible, what's holding you back from turning your musical passions and or any other passions into fruition? finally, listen to the end of this podcast because I asked Jon if he was to give any advice to a blind musician who is interested in playing music for a living what...

What you need to know is what to do when this happens.

Six Pixels of Separation - Marketing and Communications Insights - By Mitch Joel at Mirum
Welcome to episode #488 of Six Pixels Of Separation - The Mirum Podcast. Strategy. More than any other component in what makes a brand successful, strategy is at the core. What does a good strategist do? How is their work delivered, and then injected into a company? How do companies take that strategy and turn it into a valuable part of their culture. It seems like corporate mysticism. It is not. Great business leaders and thinkers like Peter Klein have the answer. It's not fake. It's a system. It's a way to think about business, the challenges it faces and how to overcome them. He co-authored the book, Think To Win - Unleashing the Power of Strategic Thinking, to show the blueprint. He even brands the book like this: "The entire book is an Executive Summary!" It's an incredible read and Klein's experience as a senior executive manager, corporate officer and high level consulting experience shines through. Tons of key learnings for everyone in this episode. Enjoy the conversation... Here...

“The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your questions.” – Dr. John Demartini If you want to improve the quality of your life, ask yourself better questions. If you want to take your marriage and relationships to the next level, ask questions that bring you and your loved ones closer. If you want your business to thrive, ask intelligent questions. Mediocre questions yield mediocre results. Good questions yield good information. Great questions yield remarkable results. We all know how important it is to master the fundamentals, yet we often focus on other things that get us through the day. Knowing your ideal customers is critical. Positioning your business strategically is essential. Getting referrals and building strong joint venture partnerships is key. Wistia or YouTube? In this podcast I explain to you why I personally preferred to use the Wistia service. With YouTube, if you host your videos that you have as trainings for sale, they can easily be stolen without your permission. Of course, content on the Internet can be stolen at any time using any service, however with Wistia you have a better chance in my opinion of your content remaining yours. The beautiful thing about Wistia is that you can offer a download version of your videos if you choose to, as well is obviously you can in bed your videos into your own website like with YouTube, and it's also convenient to use keystrokes when sharing the Wistia links with those who purchase your training. At the end of this podcast I also explained one additional feature of Wistia, that is your videos look a bit more professional then using youtube to host your for sale trainings. Wistia also provides individuals the ability to automate their video marketing with their email marketing. I have...
