Preacher was a great preacher and these are some of his sermons. He retired from the ministry in 1985, but he taught Sunday School for 25 years after that. He went into Heaven in May of 2016 at the age of 93. In his last years on earth, as a “shut in,” he spent a couple hours every afternoon “with the Lord.” He said to me more than once, “I’ve discovered that ‘Only Jesus, Only Jesus.’” I pray his sermons inspire you to love the Lord more and more until you come to know that “Only Jesus.”

Reading David ( a few years back) say, Thy gentleness makes me great, from Psalm 18:35, threw me for a minor loop, for gentleness was not in the top ten attributes of God in my mind. It took more than an empty grave to help Jesus' first followers to believe he was alive after he died on the cross. No one was convinced that the open grave was good news. Jesus had to go out looking for the disciples, and everyone needed different things to help them trust. Isn't that the same as us? No one found Jesus; he found them. The same is …
