A Magic Patch of Grass tells the story of how hundreds of kids lives at Prosperity Playground, and thousands of kids lives at the other 16 playgrounds on St. Paul’s East Side were truly transformed in the 1960s and 70s. Many of us over 40 consider our memories a real source of joy as we get older. These memories are packed with meaning, feelings, emotions and connections with others. From 5 years old to 12 years old growing up on Prosperity Playground in the 1960s and 70s in St. Paul’s East Side, I considered these as some of the most formative years of my life physically, socially and emotionally, learning so many life lessons.
