B.S. Over A Couple Of Brews Episode 3 - "Cheers to Cheers" Episode Summary: Come join Rick-O and Korbs, and B.S. over a couple of brews. Tonight we discuss the craziest bands we've seen live, what it is like to be in a band, and the terrible shooting at Cheers Pub in South Bend, IN. The general tone is remembering all the good experiences of being in a band. Cheers to Cheers Pub. The Brews: Rick-O's Brew: "Ink (Imperial Stout)" (Rhinegeist)(Cincinatti, OH) Korbs' Brew: "Seasonal Hybush (Blueberry) Sour" (Hop Tree Brewing)(Hudson, OH) Craziest Bands We've Seen Live: Meshuggah is an excellent metal band that has a killer light show. Edvard Hansson, Meshuggah's light tech video. Recommended Origin albums: "Antithesis" and "Entity" Rammstein likes their pyrotechnics in their live shows. Check out this video for "Engel" Benighted on Bandcamp. Cattle Decapitation - "Bring Back the Plague" What's it like to be in a band? Rick-O and Korbs were both in the band Zombies of Midwinter . The most notable band that we opened for was Soil . That time we played a show in Akron, OH with the band Another Lost Year , at The Bar. The other band was Blacklite District . The best show we ever played was at Cheers Pub , located in South Bend, IN. The sound engineer, and the pizza was awesome! We opened for Shawn Caplinger's band Second Season. PorchRokr 2019 was such a good time. It is an Akron, OH tradition of having bands play live from predetermined home owner's front porches, annually. A recent shooting at Cheers Pub in South Bend, Indiana: Cheers Pub Shooting Thoughts and prayers to all of our brothers and sisters out there at Cheers Pub. B.S. Over A Couple Of Brews

B.S. Over A Couple Of Brews Episode 2 - "Lofi Nofi" Episode Summary: Come join Rick-O and Korbs, and B.S. over a couple of brews. Tonight we discuss our favorite types of beer, some crazy concert experiences, and the music we both have been listening to lately. Rick-O's wireless mouse miraculously still works, so that's pretty cool. Cheers to good fortune, and also to remembrance! The Brews: Rick-O's Brew: "Undead Party Crasher (Imperial Stout)" (Brewed by Clown Shoes)(Boston, MA) Korbs' Brew: "Sticky Situation Cinnamon Bun Stout" (Brewed by Legal Remedy Brewing Co.)(Rockhill, SC) Rick-O's Favorite Beer Styles: Stouts are my favorite. I mostly enjoy them for the rich flavor, and a lot of them tend to have hints of coffee. My second favorite type of beer is Porters, because there are a lot of coffee related porters out there. (Starting to see a pattern, here? Lol.) Lastly, I enjoy some sour beers, as long as they don't taste like straight-up stomach bile. I like the fruity sours, mostly. Korbs' Favorite Beer Styles: Porters Stouts Sours and Gose Beers , because they're a little bit lighter and don't make me feel like shit. Crazy Concert Experiences: Rick-O and Korbs went to a Lamb of God show at the LC Pavilion , in Columbus, OH. The venue is modelled after the House of Blues. The guy leaning over the rail of the upper balcony fell over the rail, and ended up falling 15 or 20 feet down on top of another concert goer pretty much shoulder to shoulder. Korbs went to the (3-9-2005) Lamb of God, Slipknot, and Shadow's Fall Show, at CSU Convocation Center in Cleveland, OH. Some guy with a compound leg fracture, had to be carried out of the pit and off the floor by a friend. Can't remember which show it was at The Foundry , but I had some random guy that was trying to talk to me right in the middle of a song that was real heavy. He tried to grab me around the back of my head to pull me towards him. I pushed him away, and when he came back towards me I picked him up and threw him into the middle of the pit. Then, the guy stood up and started making weird "Karate gestures". Everyone avoided the guy. I'm pretty sure the dude was on PCP or something. Lol. In 2017, Korbs went to a Decibel Magazine Festival. Pig Destroyer and Sleep were the headliners. Some dude was so high that he crumpled a full cup of water without spilling any, and tried to stick it in his back pocket. Dude did not spill a single drop. On 10-10-2011, a major fight broke out during the Chimaira show at The Outpost , in Kent, OH. Pretty sure it was Revocation and Impending Doom that were also on that bill. Andols was not playing drums with Chimaira at that time. It was Chimaira's last show of their Age of Hell album cycle. Korbs saw Ex-Chimaira Rhythm Guitarist, Matt DeVries , years later at an Unearth and Whitechapel concert in Chicago. Matt DeVries was playing guitar for Unearth. Korbs asked DeVries if he remembered that Outpost show, and he actually did. 😃 What music has Rick-O been listening to lately? Rick-O went to the Korn/Staind concert at Blossom Music Center, on September 2, 2021. Definite props to Korn's Lead Singer, Jonathan Davis, because he was still recovering from "The Coof" . Absolute respect, Good Sir. Staind was fucking awesome, also. Such a good show. Electric Wizard - "Dopethrone" (From the UK) Electric Octopus (From the UK) Lofi Girl The Cowboy Bebop Lofi Youtube Channel: Lofi Cowboy Rick-O likes a bunch of random instrumental Stoner Rock and Stoner Metal bands that can be found on Youtube. (I'll elaborate further in future shows.) What music has Korbs been listening to lately? Humanity's Last Breath (Swedish Deathcore Band) Fallujah - "Harvest Wombs" Opeth - "Blackwater Park" (From the Sweden) Devin Townsend Archspire (From Vancouver, British Columbia) Honorable Mentions: Fun Fact: Waterloo Dark (by Waterloo Brewing) is not a stout, but is actually a Lager. Haha! Master of Disguise (by Stone Brewing) is a little bit of a "Mind Eff", and is considered a Blonde Stout or "Imperial Golden Stout". Tonight we discuss our favorite podcasts, some favorite bands/albums, and the sad recent passing of an important person in the metal community, Eric Greif.
