The world often feels rigged. And this episode is a wake-up call to recognize the barriers that exist for those who don’t fit the traditional mold. In this episode, which is a kind of tribute to my dear departed Dad, I recount some powerful lessons from the man who was a brilliant psychiatrist and my biggest champion. He taught me that if something feels off about the environment you’re in, it probably is—and it’s absolutely hella-not your fault. We dare to break into the uncomfortable truth that many workplaces are designed for a very specific demographic, leaving neurodivergent individuals, particularly those on the autism spectrum, feeling excluded. I share three stories in which my Dad imparted to me more than my fair share of his wisdom, and I'm hoping you to can feel empowered. You'll learn that we can advocate for ourselves and others to create a more inclusive work culture. Here in part 6 of 6 I was the guest on an episode of the Youristics podcast, hosted by Koby BenMelach. Youristics is about how humans interact with technology. For the full unedited episode of the Youristics podcast, click on the link in the description. The next few episodes of TBOE will be a mini-series of clips from the recording I did with Koby and will feature additional commentary at the beginning and ending of each episode. In this episode we go over a little bit about working on record-breaking productions their cinematography needs, the A.S.C and shooting content in space. Throughout this episode I made few mistakes as I was unable to correct them. Feel free to add in the comments what was missing or needs correcting. From the sound crew, to camera department, to those doing lighting; everyone will have their own process to unlocking their creative juices in order to do their art for their projects. My process for lighting a film, tv show, or theatrical stage will always differ, but the fundamental principles remain the same. For me, lighting should help give motivation to actors, help tell the story, and subconsciously control the emotions of the audience. Thanks for joining me on this mini-series about lighting and camera. Let me know in the comments how these episodes have had an impact on you. Please don’t forget to like and subscribe. Here in part 5 of 6 I was the guest on an episode of the Youristics podcast, hosted by Koby BenMelach. Youristics is about how humans interact with technology. For the full unedited episode of the Youristics podcast, click on the link in the description. The next few episodes of TBOE will be a mini-series of clips from the recording I did with Koby and will feature additional commentary at the beginning and ending of each episode. In this episode we go over some of the aspects of shooting food commercials, the American Society of Cinematography and some of its members, hierarchy of productions, and on-set pranks. I don’t want to spoil this episode too much, but if you want to know how some people goof off on set keep listening. Throughout this episode I made few mistakes. Without having another device with me to correct my mistakes, I had to just keep pushing through the conversation topics as accurately as I could remember. The next few episodes of TBOE will be a mini-series of clip from the recording I did with Koby and will feature additional commentary at the beginning and ending of each episode.
