Jillian Kaplan is currently working at Dell Technologies which focused on 5G and Telecom Thought Leadership. She has been in the Telecom sector for about 17 years.

She currently resides in Massachusetts with her husband, daughter, and dog. One of her passion is helping rescue dogs as they foster a couple of hundred dogs in and out of their house.

Highlights:

  • Working in a male-dominated field, she learns to embrace diversity and use that difference as a superpower to bring a unique perspective as a woman. Disagreeing with kindness includes the tone of your voice, how you deliver words, waiting for your turn to speak as a show of respect, and using kind communication.
  • Top tip: You can’t get upset when they don’t read your mind for what you want; they cannot read minds so you’ve got to communicate what you want.
  • In moments where absolute tragedy and trauma strike, there are two options: to stand up and fight or accept the situation and live with it.
  • Selfish and self-care are both good- it is good to be selfish and take care of yourself.
  • You can take something horrendous and turn it into something big such as turning your mess into a message.

She is a strong believer in ‘Technology for Good’ and works to bring it to the forefront of all messaging. She is a long-time Telecom industry veteran. Before Dell Technologies, Jillian spent 14 years at Verizon. She joined Network Engineering during the launch of FTTP (FiOS), where she managed over a billion dollars in inventory in the Central Offices. While working, Jillian received a Technical MBA and upon completion, started a new role in Product Management where she managed a B2B SaaS. She went on to various tasks in Marketing Operations and Sales Enablement. She believes in turning her mess into her messages. She is an author, speaker, and believer in paying it forward and helping women in the industry find their voice and share their accomplishments.
