Welcome to episode fourteen of A Proper DBE Podcast brought to you by Daughters of the British Empire.
It's Aviation History Month so this week, we're talking about women's contribution to the air services in Britain and the United States. That includes the Women's Royal Air Force, the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, the Air Transport Auxiliary, the Women's Flying Training Detachment, the Women's Auxiliary Flying Squadron, the Women's Air Service Pilots, and Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service.
Maggie Mahoney's story is featured in our book, "DBE Members Share Their Memories of World War II" and is read here by PJ Schaefer (Sir James M. Barrie - Ohio).
