Dee Brown, the first round pick of the Boston Celtics in the 1990 draft, played in the National Basketball Association for twelve years. Along with the Celtics, Brown, the 6’1” point guard, played two years for the Toronto Raptors and two years for the Orlando Magic. For his career, Dee averaged 11.1 points per game and 3.7 assists.
In 1991, Brown was named to the All-Rookie First Team and was the NBA All-Star Game Slam Dunk Champion.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Dee played college ball in his hometown at Jacksonville University.
Post his playing career, Brown has held numerous coaching positions, including Assistant Coach with the Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings. He also served as the General Manager of the Agua Caliente Clippers, an NBA G-League organization based in Ontario, CA, and an affiliated of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Brown also had a stint in Television. In 2005, he hosted an ESPN show called City Slam!.
Currently, Dee his back in his hometown serving as a Jacksonville University Executive and the Director of University and Athletics Relations.
Dee is the proud father of Lexie Brown, a star in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
