Young people falling in love, but make it tragic. There are definitely some differences from book to movie on this one … but that’s not necessarily what we grip about in this episode. We discuss tropes, how to properly get every single early 2000’s alt-rock song in a soundtrack, and why this gives young folk bad expectations about love. Also, we found out what it takes to be a Certified Dumpster Fire!

Episode Drink: Iced Tea and if you’re from the south, specifically Sweet Tea

Our Drinking Game for this Story

Take a drink every time:

You see a late 90s/early 2000s movie trope (weird scene cuts, pan to people sitting around, clothing styles, high school kids doing things that high school kids didn’t really do …)

Every time Mandy Moore sings

Every time Jamie mentions having faith

Every time Landon’s toxic masculinity is showing … which is like almost every scene, sorry

Take swift swig back when you cringe
