In this episode both the prestigious Drs. Steve Silverman and Risto Marttinen join us to discuss the importance of connecting research to practice from a K-12 or PETE perspective.

Dr. Silverman is Dean and Professor in the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University and professor of education emeritus at Teachers College, Columbia University. For over 40 years he has conducted research on teaching in physical education with an emphasis on motor skill learning and attitude development. In addition, he has published papers and books on research methods in kinesiology and the social sciences.
Our second guest is Dr. Risto Marttinen who is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at George Mason University. His research focuses on physically active after-school programs and the integration of other subjects into physical education settings.
