In this episode, Paul has a feeling in his bones and completely forgets how science works.

"Life," directed by Daniel Espinosa and released in 2017, is a science fiction horror film that takes the familiar setting of space exploration and infuses it with gripping tension and existential dread. The film follows a team of six astronauts aboard the International Space Station who make a groundbreaking discovery: a single-celled organism from Mars, dubbed "Calvin," which provides the first proof of extraterrestrial life. However, their excitement quickly turns to terror as Calvin rapidly evolves into a highly intelligent and hostile entity, threatening the lives of the crew and potentially all of humanity. The ensemble cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ryan Reynolds, delivers compelling performances that heighten the film’s sense of urgency and claustrophobia.

"Life" stands out for its intense atmosphere and the seamless integration of science fiction and horror elements. The film's setting within the confined, zero-gravity environment of the space station amplifies the tension, creating a claustrophobic backdrop where the crew must use their wits and limited resources to survive. The alien entity, Calvin, is a formidable antagonist, its rapid evolution and adaptability presenting a constant and escalating threat. With its blend of high-stakes drama, suspenseful pacing, and striking visual effects, "Life" offers a harrowing exploration of the dangers of space exploration and the potential perils of discovering alien life. The film raises thought-provoking questions about humanity's readiness to encounter extra-terrestrial beings and the unforeseen consequences that such discoveries might entail.
