“One of the reasons I got involved in dental implant education is that I didn’t want dentists to get discouraged that they would have failures early on in their implant career and then shy away from doing these procedures,” –Joseph Leonetti, DMD, FAAID, DABOI/ID, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

As an internationally known teacher and mentor in oral surgery and implant dentistry, Dr. Joseph Leonetti, shares his advice to new dentists looking to become involved in the field. With over 25 years of experience placing implants, one of the biggest pieces of advice he gives is to analyze any deficiencies prior to surgery. It’s very common for new dentists to jump right into surgery before properly studying their case. Often times, this can lead to unhappy patients and the feeling of failure.

Throughout this podcast, you’ll have a better grasp of the best technology for a starting dentist, discover hands-on opportunities to learn about implant dentistry, and realize the importance of finding a mentor in your community. Listen in!

The views expressed in this episode are those of the individual participants and not necessarily that of the AAID.
