Appropriate triage of patients in the ED is sometimes challenging, and today we’re discussing a new article in AEM entitled “Physician Gestalt for Emergency Department Triage: A Prospective Videotaped Study.” This paper from an academic ED in Taiwan compared physician gestalt versus the Taiwan Triage and Acuity Scale (TTAS), which is standard computerized triaging software used in Taiwan.
