Deteriorating student mental health is not unique to Africa. It is a global crisis. Schools are scrambling to adapt and handle the growing mental health needs of their learners including dealing with suicide watch frequently.
However, It is common for the older generation to be dismissive by saying "In our times we were mentally stronger, but children of these days are weak."
Is this true? What has changed? What can be done?

Be it the curriculum content, teaching methods or stakeholders commitment, there is an urgency to adapt to the times.
